Champions for Kids deeply believes that ALL children, most especially children who are homeless, should have: Someone who cares, a place to belong, hope for tomorrow, and provisions for their journey.
For the past 16 years, Champions for Kids has worked to help end child poverty. We now focus our commitment to helping children who are homeless. In 2015, Champions for Kids worked with partners to develop the most recent research on children who are homeless. We were silenced to learn that the numbers of youth experiencing homelessness in the United States in 2015 was staggering.
Today, more than ever, because of COVID displacing families from their homes and the loss of jobs, the numbers of youth experiencing homelessness is escalating. Each year, an estimated 4.2 million youth experience homelessness. There are many causes of youth homelessness: Children and youth living in motels, hotels, trailer parks or camping grounds due to lack of safe accommodations, are living in emergency shelters or transitional shelters, or are abandoned in hospitals. Child homelessness may include children who are sharing the housing of a friend, relative or other person due to economic hardship, abuse, or neglect.
This Holiday Season, you can help. Champions for Kids is partnering with School Nurses and Counselors who privately know what youth need help. Your donation is provided as a gift card to school counselors and nurses to bring hope, joy, and love to homeless youth during the holiday season, and beyond. Here is what your gift will do:
- $35. Gift Card to School Nurse to provide a Holiday Gift for a youth.
- $50. Gift Card to School Nurse to provide two Holiday Gifts and a Stocking
- $150. Gift Card to provide Holiday Gift, stocking, and warm clothing
- $250 Gift Card to provide all the above plus food for the holiday
- $500 Gift card to school nurse to help with greatest needs

Your donation goes into restricted funds to provide resources through nurses and counselors to help children they serve. Operational costs for this program have been provided by generous donors.
